Professionally, Dr. Peterson has always expressed a strong desire to improve his skills and work for the benefit of his patients. Shortly after starting his practice he was able to secure a position at the Paiute Health clinic serving the Native American population where he helped manage many patients with diabetes. He provided free eye care for patients attending the substance abuse program directed by the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. These experiences helped prepare him for new clinical experience working with Dr. Peter DeBry at NV Eye Surgery where he continues his work on dry eye, post-operative care, and glaucoma management. It has brought him great pleasure to be a part of that team to which he is truly grateful.
Dr. Peterson is married to his wife, Kimberly, and they are blessed with three children. His family is his proudest achievement. He is active in his church and served a two-year mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Peterson has participated on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and continues to volunteer for them for different events, including fundraising. He has raised over $10,000 to aid in the research to find a cure for diabetes. Over the last few years, he has found a passion for running and has run many half marathons, the St. George marathon, and the Las Vegas Ragnar. He also enjoys getting on his bicycle and riding up at Red Rock.
